Let's Get this Baby Rolling!

The blog design is totally not set in stone, but I want to get this going. I have such a full life, and I want to get parts of it set in writing. You see, I take tons of picture, do too many projects, and have a pretty full plate. I love to scrapbook, but don't have the time to do it very often so I thought this would be a great way to document my busy yet fun life. You will notice, I am not a perfect writer. I can spell, but I do not follow all of the proper English rules. My pictures will not be perfect either, but that is okay because this is mainly for myself and my family. Hopefully, you can forgive that, and just enjoy the journey.

The idea behind this blog is to document our new adventure. A little over a year and a half ago we bought a home on 40 acres with my in-laws. The plan was to live in it together for a couple of years, and then to build a different home on the property that we would share, but it would be more duplex like. Well the in-laws just moved in, and plans have changed for now. We like the house we are in, and we only truly share the kitchen and dining room. We love the barn near this home, and do not want to give it or any of the acreage away, so it seems we will be remodeling this home instead. We have a few years to think on it, so this may change. For now we are all adjusting to living in the same home, without driving each other nuts. It is going rather well so far.

I will introduce the cast of characters that you will see regularly on this blog.
  • Shelly- this is me. Mine is the only real name you will see on this blog. All of the other characters will have a made up name for privacy sake. I am a 30 something, crafting, scrapbooking, cooking, cleaning, and fun loving girl. Life has not always been easy, and I will share that later, but God is my All and He has helped me through it.
  • Mr. G-this is my sexy hubby. We have been married over 10 years, and I love him so much. He is the hardest working man I know, and very talented as well. He can do almost anything if he sets his heart on it. He runs our family owned recycling business, and is a great provider.
  • Little Miss A- this is our adorable little girl. It was a difficult path, that lead us to finally being able to bring her home. We dealt with infertility, pregnancy losses, and a very difficult pregnancy, but she was more then worth it. She is such a blessing and true gift from God.
  • Papa A- this is my father-in-law. He is truly a wonderful man. Definitely where my husband got all of his great traits from. Nearing retirement from the local mill, and looking forward to the many projects that we have in store for him in the future:)
  • Mimi- this is my mother-in-law. I get a long great with her. She truly has become my second mom, and a friend. Very opinionated, talented, and very fun to be with.
  • Maggie and Josie- the two family Springer Spaniels. Maggie is 10 years old, and Josie is almost one. Best buds.
  • Snow White-our beautiful family cat. She is a great mouser, and cuddler
Well that is our whole collective crew. We have many plans for the next few years of our life. We are going to start getting some farm animals, try some new gardening techniques, and of course redoing our whole home. There will be many adventures to share, and I hope you enjoy the journey.
